Playing the Game

To play The Lord of the Rings: Conquest with MordorWide, follow these steps:

1. Install the Base Game

• Install The Lord of the Rings: Conquest.
• Ensure the game is patched to version 1.1.
• Optional: Download the DLC addon from our Discord server and extract the files into your game directory. While this is optional, you may not be able to join certain server if you don't install the DLC addon..

2. Patch the Game Binary

You'll need to patch the game's binary to connect to the MordorWide backend.

• Note: To statically patch the game binary, you need to use an un-encrypted binary ("Crack"). If you have a game binary with DRM, you need to patch the game binary dynamically.
• If you know that you have a decrypted/"cracked" game binary, you can patch the game binary directly in your browser:

3. Start the Game

Launch the game, then navigate to Multiplayer → EA Nation and create a new account.

Note: When you are asked the CD key, enter a unique key which ends with -MORDORWIDE.

You may use the following key: some-unique-text-MORDORWIDE

Note: When you log into your account and select a persona, your local game profile will be tied to this persona. If you want to play with another persona, make sure to create a new local game profile in the main menu and log into your account again.

5. (Optional) Verify Your Account

For additional customization, you can verify your account by logging into our website and further personalize your settings.

The essential feature: You can delete existing personas, change the password or terminate your account.

Hosting a Dedicated Server

If you wish to host a dedicated server for your own community, follow these steps:

1. Download and Install the Dedicated Server

• Download the dedicated server files from the internet.
• Install the dedicated server on your machine.
• Optional: Download the DLC addon from our Discord server and extract the files into your server's install directory.

2. Patch the Server Binary

• Similar to the game binary, the server binary must be patched as well to connect successfully to the MordorWide backend.

3. Set Up the Server

• Note: A MordorWide account can only have one active session once at a time. This means that you need two separate accounts if you want to join your own server. One account is needed to set up the dedicated server, and another account is needed to join the dedicated server.
• Create a new account in the EA Nation game menu first, and add a new persona to it. Yet, that account is meant to be used for hosting the dedicated server.
• Use the ConquestLauncher.exe to create and customize the server settings, providing your EA Nation login credentials for the dedicated server.

4. Launch the Server

• Click the 'Launch' button or manually start the server by running the ConquestServer.exe file.

Remarks

• If you have any questions or encounter issues, join our Discord server and ask for help!
• Important Security Notice: The patch removes SSL verification for the re-implemented EA Nation login due to technical reasons. This makes the connection to the backend insecure and susceptible to man-in-the-middle attacks and insecure cipher suites. For your safety, do not re-use your password across other accounts or services.
